I started this project quite a while back !  This week has been all about finishing things off: the quilt, now the zoo basket.  Tick, tick, tick! This is for a very close friend of my sister-in-law.  This friend now lives in the States and her first baby is due any minute!  Boy or girl?  We don't know, so I've tried to keep it colourfully gender neutral (I'm not a fan of beige and all its shades). Last time I made them for Lucas' first birthday  and I'm still loving this zoo basket pattern from Maggie, check out her Etsy shop!   She's got so many cute patterns - I want them all! I'm still knitting... slowly - and have decided I'm going to try and sew a zip in it once all of the knitting is out of the way.  The truth is that I've been distracted by this little sewing project.  Hoping to finish most of this over the weekend.  It has taken me a while to choose the fabrics for it, but I think it will look cute when it's all done!

Dit weekend gingen we naar het eerste verjaardagsfeestje van Lucas.  Het was meteen ook het ventje zijn naamdag (de niet-religieuze versie van een doopfeest) en mijn schat van een man is nu trotse 'guideparent'. Naast de mooie houten puzzel met de letters van zijn naam wilde ik ook zelf iets maken voor Lucas. Herinnert u zich dit ?  Ik kan eindelijk tonen wat die leuke stofjes geworden zijn!  Het werd geen vlaggenlijn  en ook geen dekentje, maar wel... ... tien beestjes en een mandje om alles netjes bij elkaar te houden.   Krokodil, (baby) ijsbeer, (baby) olifant, giraf, kangoeroe x2, zebra en tijger.
