There is some sand at Sand Bay.  I'm sure O would have appreciated us taking him to the sand, but he didn't know it was there.  Instead we left the bay behind us and walked up the steep steps to a path leading all the way 'in to the sea'.  I'm still amazed at the stamina my little man has, he's never been a 'buggy baby'.  It was a sunny and warm afternoon with an invigorating sea breeze clearing our heads.  The views just amazing, what a surprising and beautiful country this is.  At the top (or the end) we sat down for a bit, with a can of coke, just admiring the world around us.  What a way to spend a late afternoon - a mini holiday for the mind.  I love discovering these gems so near to us! Na acht moeilijke avonds, gebroken nachten en vroege ochtends geven we op met het 'grote bed'.  Ik ben zo blij dat het eindelijk weekend is na ons door week en werk gesleept te hebben.  Blijkt dat mijn kleine man zijn 'klein bed' en slaapzak toch nog heel graag ziet en dat is ok.  Maar dat betekent niet dat deze mama het idee van een lapjesdeken al opgeeft hoor.   Neen, want vroeg of laat gaat hij toch in dat groot, nieuw bed willen slapen, niet? De bovenkant is af,  ik wacht op de vulling en een nieuwe voet voor mijn naaimachine om de 'quilt sandwich' te maken.  Ik verlang om hem in de wasmachine te gooien, dan in de droogkast (jaja) en alle 160 vierkantjes aan jullie te tonen! Hier thuis hebben we een kastje in de keuken, met maar één doel: het perfecte drankje brouwen 's morgens, 's avonds en tussendoor. Wat kan je bij ons vinden: Thee: in allerlei smaken en kleuren: roodbos, fruit en kruidenthee, Engelse (gewone) thee en jasmijn thee.  Er  is zelfs een zak met losse theeblaadjes voor als we ons heel avontuurlijk voelen. Koffie: instant, decaf, vers gemalen koffie voor in de cafetiere. Chocolade poeder: twee dozen, want ramp als dat op is! Suiker: fijne, witte suiker (eigenlijk voor in gebak) en rietsuiker.  Klontjes suiker vind je hier niet in de winkel en krijg je enkel als je ergens heel deftigs voor een koffie gaat. Een fles porto gemaakt door mijn mama.  Dit najaar waag ik mij ook eens aan het porto maken. Zakjes Beechams antigriep en verkoudheid, bessensmaak. Zout, geen idee waarom dit in het kastje staat... I'm still knitting... slowly - and have decided I'm going to try and sew a zip in it once all of the knitting is out of the way.  The truth is that I've been distracted by this little sewing project.  Hoping to finish most of this over the weekend.  It has taken me a while to choose the fabrics for it, but I think it will look cute when it's all done!

Me and the boy are home alone this weekend.  We've been doing our own thing, going with the flow and letting the weather shape our days.  Yesterday was gloriously sunny but windy.  The washing dried on the line, I only had to rescue it once from a fierce downpour.  I love the sun, it gives me energy. The house got a mini spring-clean and O's toys and books have been sorted.  We went grocery shopping and I had some friends coming round for a catch-up and take-away in the evening.  It is only 11am and although it has been a lazy morning lots has already been done. There has even been some time for me to pick up the knitting project again.  The back is finished, I'm now working on the first half of the front - still loving this yarn and its colours!  It's a rainy day today, so there might be time to do some more later.  Me and O have refilled the log basket, he's such a good boy and likes helping with l...
